The Board




Professor Bart O. Nnaji is the Founder of Bart Nnaji Foundation (BNF), and the Chairman/CEO of Geometric Power Limited, the first indigenously owned private sector power company in Nigeria. Geometric Power develops and invests in power plants, sub stations, electricity distribution infrastructure as well as gas pipelines.

Prof Nnaji was a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst , an Alcoa Foundation Professor of Engineering at University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania , the William Kepler Whiteford Professor of Engineering at University of Pittsburgh where he also spearheaded the creation of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Center for e-Design as a multi-campus NSF Center of Excellence in the United States of America and served as its first Director.

He has served Nigeria honourably in various capacities including as the Minister of Power, where he developed and initiated the implementation of the Roadmap for power reform in Nigeria. He also served as the Special Adviser to the President on Power, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP), and as Federal Minister of Science and Technology of Nigeria. He also served as a member of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Merit Board and member of the National Energy Council (the apex decision making body on energy) in Nigeria.

Prof Bart Nnaji has empowered hundreds of indigent people since 1990, through the education scholarship and community development program of Professor Bart Nnaji Foundation, (BNF). BNF and DDF are collaborating on community development programs.



An astute leader and team player with has over 15 years work experience in the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) sector; tackling various issues aimed at improving the lives of women & vulnerable groups especially in rural communities. Recognized as a Fellow of Ashoka USA for her passion in making innovative social changes through the development of people and communities.



Mrs. Regina Amadi-Njoku is a seasoned diplomat and a highly experienced gender, labor and development specialist. Founder of Other Half  Empowerment Initiative (OH), a Leadership and Management NGO that addresses development issues through the prism of the impact of culture and gender on women and men rights, access to leadership and participation in all spheres of development.  Her global presence spans across several senior decision-making positions in national and international institutions in Africa, Europe and the United States. These include the UN Assistant Secretary General (ASG)  and the ILO Regional Director for Africa; Regional Program Director of Anglophone West Africa for UNIFEM; Vice-President for Africa at the Mayatech Corporation in Maryland, USA; and Project Coordinator at the Economic Development Institute (EDI) of the World Bank, amongst others. She also lectured at the University of Maryland and Howard University in Washington D.C. in linguistics and African studies.

She serves on several Boards, including Coca-Cola Africa Advisory Board (1992-96) and is a recipient of multiple awards. Ms. Amadi-Njoku is fully bilingual in English and French.



Dr. Ogugua Osi-Ogbu is a physician with diverse wealth of clinical training, practice, and notable bedside manners. She obtained her basic medical degree from the college of medicine, University of Ibadan in 1988 and went on to commence residency training in Internal Medicine at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (1992 to 1993). She subsequently completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with board certification in 2004 and 2005 respectively.

Her clinical practice spans 3 countries: Nigeria, Kenya and the United States but has travelled to close to 20 countries mostly for professional activities. Dr. Osi-Ogbu has been Head, Department of Internal Medicine, Deputy Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC), Acting Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (Ag.CMAC) at the National Hospital Abuja.

She is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and currently Chief Consultant Physician and Geriatrician heading the Geriatrics unit of the department of Medicine, National Hospital Abuja.

Dr. Osi-Ogbu is the interim Assistant Secretary General (West Africa) of the African society for Ageing research and development (ASARD) and Treasurer for the Geriatrics Association of Nigeria (GAN). She is also member of various local and international professional organizations: American Geriatrics Society (Fellow), American College of Physicians, Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Medical Association.

She is married and blessed with 3 children.



A Nigerian-born, American Dominican Catholic Priest and University Professor of high repute, with multiple doctorate degrees in electronics, microbiology, and development science.

Founder of the renowned Songhai Farm Centre, an innovative and integrated agro-based interventionist institution, headquartered in Port Novo, Benin Republic and operating in 15 African countries.

Songhai Farm Centre was recognized as a Regional Centre of Excellence for Africa by the United Nations in 2008. Fr. Godfrey Nzamujo was meritoriously accorded the rank of “Grand Officer of the Order of Benin Republic” in 2013.



Mrs. Jessie Wamuo is a highly experienced London-based Community Health Professional Specialist in Health and Social Care within District Nursing and Health Visiting.

She has special interest in skills development and capacity building. Mrs Wamuo has over 28 years of teaching experience in the UK as a lecturer/practice educator in the health sector. She graduated as a Lecturer/practice Educator at Surrey University, Guildford and South Bank University, London in the 1980s.

She is currently the company Director of Omeronye Ltd., in London UK with focus on Health Promotion in the community.



Country Director at Girl Effect Nigeria – ‎Girl Hub.  A multiple award winning Development Sociologist with over 21 years’ experience in building Civil Society Organizations’ (CSOs) capacity, training, good governance, budget reform, migration, networking, HIV/AIDS, project design and management, monitoring and evaluation, public policy and gender mainstreaming.

She served as a former, Director, Canadian International Development Agency Program Support Unit in Nigeria; former Deputy Program Director of the Supporting to Reforming Institutions Program (SRIP) a European Union Project; a former Country Director for Ashoka Innovators for the Public’s Representative for West Africa, and a Consultant to UNIFEM, European Union, Action Aid, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), UNIFEM, UNESCO amongst others.

She was also a lecturer at the University of Limerick in Ireland, and the University College Cork.

Renowned for his high values, staunch integrity, being detail oriented and firm commitment to high service delivery standards.

A certified Sales & Marketing Trainer of the Starwood USA Hotel Group, owners of Sheraton Hotel Abuja. Currently organizes a Marketing Academy that aims at bridging classroom theory with on the job professional practice of marketing and customer service delivery. His company also recruits, trains and sets up operational systems and standards for companies. To date they have set up, trained and consulted for over 50 companies in Nigeria and still counting.

He served as Director of Sales & Marketing, Abuja Sheraton Hotel & Towers; Deputy General Manager, Genesis Foods Nigeria Limited (in charge of Hotels, Catering, Business Development); Chief Operating Officer, Doxa Digital Nigeria Limited.



A development profesional and human rights advocate with over 12 years experiencing promoting human rights based porgraming. As the Senior Program Officer of NULAI Nigeria, she has successfully grown the footprint of NULAI as a network of clinical programmes in Nigeria from nothing to cover about two-third of the law faculties in Nigeria, secured institutional approval for the programme and managed to persuade the Nigeria’s Parliament through the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria to integrate University-based legal aid clinics into the community of statutorily recognized legal aid services in Nigeria.

She is a member, Board of Directors and the current African representative with the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE) and also serves as the Secretary of its Executive Committee.

Odi Lagi is seasoned development professional with a Diploma in Development Leadership from Coady International Institute and Diploma in Social Innovation from UN University of Peace. She is an Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) Human Rights Fellow with Masters in Human Rights from the Central European University and a trained human rights educator from Equitas (International Centre for Human Rights Education, Canada).
