Capacity building:
Over the years, Dewdrop Foundation has organized various capacity building programs for Women and girls including those who are victims of Gender based Violence. Some of these activities including the following;
Annual Skill Acquisition program on catering, fish and poultry farming, detergents etc between 2009 to 2018. This annual event takes place in our pilot Community Umuode, in Nkanu East LG, Enugu State Nigeria. Not less than 54% of the beneficiaries are Capacity Building:
- Skill acquisition training for women and girls. As part of its capacity building programs, Dewdrop Foundation organizes an annual skill acquisition training for women and girls in her pilot project community, Umuode in Nkanu East LG, Enugu State. This program started as early as 2009 up to 2018. In August 2014, DDF organized this training on catering, detergent making, etc for 49 women and girls in Umuode, out of which 9 are victims of domestic violence who were later provided with start up fund for their businesses. The young girls who were mostly indigent were given equipment to empower them. Also in the year July 2015, same skill acquisition training was organized for 39 young women in Umuode community including 5 persons from a neig

Also in the year July 2015, same skill acquisition training was organized for 39 young women in Umuode community including 5 persons from a neighboring community thereby reaching out to more women. Between 2011 to 2018 DDF also organized entreneurship programs for not less than 250 members of Umuode Women Organization during their annual August meeting, to empower them to engage in lucrative businesses. As a result, not less than 55 of them are fully engaged in one or more businesses. 35% of the women are widows or those suffering or have suffered gender based violence and were recuperated through self dependence major.
In 2017 DDF in cosponsored a skill acquisition training on poultry and fish farming for 19 youths in Umuode community out of which 5 are women and 9 are young girls between age 18 to 25. DDF in collaboration with the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG), annually sponsors the tertiary education career of 37 young girls, one from from each state in Nigeria who are indigent or victims of GBV. For the past 20 years, over 500 young girls have benefited from this opportunity. DDF and NWAG also supports 13 orphanage homes in 13 states in Nigeria through provision of food, toys, medication, Women Empowerment: DDF partners with Chichi Aniagolu Okoye’s foundation to organize annual medical outreach for Umuode women during their annual August meeting. Their membership ranks up to 300 annually. In 2018, DDF through the sponsorship of Oxfam of Netherlands carried out a project titled sustainable transformative Leadership and Inclusive governance in Umuode Community and one of the outcomes saw the inclusion of 2 women in the traditional council of the of the community. This gave women Voice in the community. The project also facilitated a workshop on women participation in politics which empowered the community women to have a change of mindset towards women leadership and enabled one of them to indicate interest in contesting for political post at the community and local government level.
